Survival kits do not come with a guarantee. When people need to deal with extreme conditions, they seldom expect a guarantee. Even survivors, however, appreciate the security of having access to quality survival kits. That is why one enterprising young man has formed a company that sells nothing except survival equipment and survival supplies. The geographic distribution of that equipment and those supplies might amaze the reader of the following article. In fact, the reader could well experience an expansion in his or her knowledge of world geography by reading the following few paragraphs. The need for quality, reliable survival kits becomes most clear to any one who ventures into a region with extreme weather and rugged geography. An awareness of that need motivated Donald Rohl to form the company known as International Survival Supplies.
Rohl learned through first-hand experience what items belong in any of the packages labeled as survival kits. Rohl had previously worked for a legal survey company. As a member of a survey team, Rohl had had to spend many hours working in the field. Rohl’s company now sells survival kits to governments, businesses and organizations that send people out to perform field work.
In the past Rohl’s survival kits have served as an insurance package for pilots employed by the U.S. government. The pilots had kits on board their planes as they flew over the South Pole, en route to the Kwajalein Islands. Those Islands later became the launch site for an interceptor missile. That missile was used during one of the many successful drills meant to provide information on the U.S. defense system.
While the U.S. government tested Rohl’s kits at the bottom of the world, Rohl himself first experienced survival conditions at the top of the world. Rohl once had to spend 6 weeks of living in a tent that had been placed on Artic land. Rohl and his co-workers had had to carry out their job responsibilities in temperatures as low as -63 degrees Fahrenheit.
That experience taught Rohl the importance of top quality, light weight survival gear. That experience helped to plant the seed that would later lead to the creation of International Survival Supplies Ltd. Now survival kits are being sent to all four corners of the world.
Now wherever an expedition has gone in search of oil, each of the expedition members inevitably carry with them some type of survival kit. Sometimes it is an ATV pocket survival kit. Similar kits have been used up north in Siberia and way down in South America. Surveyors for the new Baha’i Temple will probably use survival kits.
That structure, a house of worship called the Temple of Light, will need to stand-up against the winds in the regions around Santiago, Chile. The men and women who survey the future Temple site will have to deal with the unrelenting winds from the Andes Mountains. Their efforts will create a white alabaster building, one which will provide a stark contrast to the dark mountains.
West of Chile, across the Pacific Ocean, it is possible that one or more authors could choose to use a survival kit. There are potential novels in many World War II stories, including those that took place on islands in the South Pacific. An excellent story exists in the history of the battle for Tarawa Island, an isle not far from the Kwajalein Islands.
